WORK WITH ME
WORK
WITH ME
I’ve been coaching and mentoring people, formally and informally, for decades.
Writers. Performers. People with an idea they can’t quite get hold of yet.
People halfway through something and wondering what on earth they’re doing. People who know exactly what they want to make, but need another mind alongside them while they make it.
I’m interested in the work you want to make — not in squeezing it into somebody else’s idea of what it ought to be.
EXPERIENCE
FOR
DECADES.
Working with people isn’t a new strand of my practice.
For decades, alongside my own writing and creative work, I’ve coached, mentored, taught and supported people as they develop ideas, solve problems, make decisions and find their own way forward.
Some of that work has been formal. Some of it hasn’t. What connects it is close attention: listening properly, asking useful questions, noticing what’s there — and sometimes noticing what’s conspicuously not there.
I won’t tell you what your work should be.
I will help you see it more clearly.
WAYS WE MIGHT WORK
MENTORING · COACHING
TEACHING · WORKSHOPS
I work one-to-one and with groups. That might mean sustained mentoring over a period of time, a focused conversation about a particular piece of work, teaching, a workshop, or helping to untangle a project that has become stuck.
You might be at the beginning of something, deep in the middle of it, or standing several feet away from it wondering whether setting fire to the whole thing would technically count as editing.
All are legitimate stages of the creative process.
The important thing is that we start with you, the work, and what you need from the conversation.
The work can involve writing, performance, creative practice, developing an idea or finding a way through a problem.
